Job Summary
The Mechanic A actively participates in the conservation of the plant related machinery by performing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic corrective, preventive and inspection procedures, improve machinery while paying special care on Personnel Safety and Food Safety Standards.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Test all aspects of mechanical and electro-mechanical components for automated food production equipment.
- Carry out activities in a workmanlike manner.
- Control, Electric, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting up to 480VAC.
- Work on machine tools, material handling systems, and industrial production equipment used in food processing.
- Integrate new and improved components into mechanical equipment.
- Preventive and Corrective maintenance as well as inspection activities.
- Identifying areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and making recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain downtimes due equipment failures as low as possible.
- Work order execution.
- Comply with local Food Safety Standards and other standards adopted by the Company.
- Comply with personnel safety regulations and other standards adopted by the Company.
- Keep constant communication with other areas such as production, quality control that led to increase in quality and efficiency of the whole process plant.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of Electrical Testing Equipment.
- Knowledge of Metric and Imperial measuring systems and conversions.
- Bilingual English Spanish is a plus
- Electric, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic schematic reading.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic machinery parts.
- Knowledge of mechanical machinery parts.
- Knowledge of welding, brazing and Soldering.
Physical Demands
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to observe, talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, walk, reach with arms and hands, work with soldering materials. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crawl, and kneel, lift objects up to 50 Lb., may be required.
