Job Description

Safety Manager

Position Summary:

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards. This role supports continuous improvement in workplace safety, risk management, employee training, and accident prevention in our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and training programs.

· Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

· Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.

· Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all departments.

· Manage workers’ compensation claims, working closely with HR and insurance providers.

· Maintain all safety-related documentation and reporting.

· Develop and lead plant-wide safety committees.

· Deliver safety orientation and ongoing training for all employees.

· Track and report on key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, etc.).

· Coordinate emergency preparation and response plans.

· Foster a strong safety culture through employee engagement and accountability.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 5+ years of experience in a safety role within manufacturing, preferably in food processing.

· Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

· Experience in training and leading safety initiatives.

· Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS software systems.

Preferred Certifications:

· OSHA 30-hour or 510/500 certification

· Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credential
