Safety Assistant Job Descriptions
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Safety Assistant supports the safety team in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment within the manufacturing facility. This role involves assisting with safety inspections, compliance monitoring, incident reporting, and employee safety training while importing and exporting information into Ole Corporate Data System (OCDS).
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Support the safety team in conducting safety audits and inspections
· Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding safety procedures and documentation
· Assist in conducting regular safety audits and inspections on the manufacturing floor.
· Help identify potential safety hazards and report findings to the Safety Manager.
· Support the investigation and documentation of workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents.
· Maintain safety records, logs, and reports to ensure accurate tracking of safety performance.
· Aid in developing and delivering safety training programs and safety awareness campaigns.
· Monitor the use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE) and recommend replacements.
· Assist in enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
· Support emergency response planning and drills as needed.
· Participate in safety meetings and contribute ideas to enhance workplace safety.
Qualifications and Recommended Skills:
MUST BE BILINGUAL: ENGLISH & SPANISH
· Must be comfortable in presenting material to large groups
· Must be willing to work in a plant/industrial environment
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to walk, stand, and move around the manufacturing facility for extended periods.
· Use of personal protective equipment as required.
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED; Associate degree
